A great result, I feel every RPV player contributed to this win, it was a tremendous team performance. The 1st half was disappointing, after long periods of pressure, we had a lot of good possession in and around their penalty box and at times, looked dangerous, but failed to get a goal. We were not picking the right option in their 3rd of the field, and our shooting was poor. We also conceded a poor goal. At half time I mentioned we should attack quicker, with more bodies so that we had more options, also how shooting must be more powerful, and accurate.

Myself, Brian, and Gary also tried to install some confidence into the players.

The 2nd half was much better, and the players responded with not only good football but hard work. The teams has got great spirit at the moment which showed tonight, after coming form behind twice to win the game.

Its easy to say don't get over confident. However I think when we're not confident we play badly, so I will be telling them lets get over confident and win more matches, because the players still don't know how good they are as a team, and that's what I will be driving into them before every game.

Also I must mention the support form the RPV travellers, you got behind the team who responded, keep it up it was excellent, but lads, I think you need more recruits for the Boxing Day game.

Home to Wallingford

A disappointing result but it was not a disappointing performance against Wallingford on Sat.

I was very upset with the officials, their 1st goal was never a penalty, it was obvious to everyone that the Wallingford's forward dived. Even their manager apologised to me after the game, what more can I say, only that the ref. was calling the forward by his first name throughout the game.

The decision with for our penalty was a good decision, but how could he not send the keeper off he was the last man and prevented Rawle Kendall a tap in.

1-1 at half time and I told the team, that we're showed them too much respect, and we were in every department as good as them. I also mentioned that I wanted to see more confidence in the way we approach the second half.

They came out and took the game to Wallingford, we had allot of opportunities to take the lead but miss the chances, I think if we had scored anytime in the second half, we would have gone on to win easily but its that word IF again.

With Wallingford scoring 2 goals late in the game it looks like they give us a good hiding but that wasn't the case. In fact with a bit of luck, and rub of the green, or good refereeing the scores would have been reversed, which would have justified the way we played in the 2nd half.

The good thing is we are heading in the right direction with a young squad that can only get better.

The Cove game

When your playing a team thats struggling at the foot of the table, its important that you start the game well. And thats exactly what we did, the first 30 ins we created a lot of chances without having anything to show. Set pieces seem to cause a lot of problems for them, and it didnt surprise me when we opened the scoring from a corner, which Dan Oatway headed in from short range.

1-0 at half which should have been 6-0.

The half time discussion was all about being solid at the back, and not giving them any chance to get back in the game, and we believed that goal scoring opportunities would come the other end, but we needed but we needed to be more clinical in front of goal.

Again we started possessively and got the 2nd goal from a free kick, which was cleverly curled around the wall into the into the top right hand corner of the goal, by Lee Cox.

We made 2 substitution one of which was, Chris Davies who was making his debut up front, and celebrated by scoring 3 typical centre forward goals. Well done.

Summing the game up I feel, as soon as we scored the only question was how many goals we were going to get, if we had scored earlier in the 1st half we would have gone on to win by an even larger margin.

The defence looked solid, the midfield were able to stroll thorough the game, and the forwards should have had more goals to show for their efforts.

All things considered I am very pleased with the result.
